URL rewriting or URL cleaning in Drupal

Url rewriting means you can change your post or page url. In SEO (Search engine optimization) Search engine want that your post url should have keywords. For this purpose we use URL cleaning or you can say URL rewriting. In Url cleaning your post url more understandable or flexible.

Step-1: Login to your drupal admin account 

Step-2: Select Configuration in given administrator toolbar.

Step-3:  Select Clean Urls link in Search and metadata section.

Step-4: If you select “Enable clean urls” checkbox then url rewriting apply on every post or page url. If you unselect this checkbox then url rewriting will not apply on page or post url.
